- Six restaurants across the two locations were also awarded stars at the Golden Phoenix Tree China Restaurant Guide Awards
Six SJM restaurants across Grand Lisboa Macau and Lisboa Palace Resort Macau have been awarded stars at the 2024 Golden Phoenix Tree China Restaurant Guide Awards, with three also entering La Liste’s top 1,000 ranking of World’s Best Restaurants for 2025.
Namely, of the six restaurants, Robuchon au Dôme and The 8 at Grand Lisboa Macau, as well as Palace Garden Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, entered La Liste’s top 1,000 rankings for 2025. Additionally, Palace Garden was the only culinary institution of the six to receive the highest three-star award at the Golden Phoenix Tree China Restaurant Guide Awards, ahead of Robuchon au Dôme and Don Alfonso 1890 which both earned two stars, and The 8, Hua Ting and Zuicho, which each received one.
La Liste launched its world rankings system in the widely revered food capital of Paris in 2015, and covers over 35,000 restaurants worldwide, while the Golden Phoenix Tree China Restaurant Guide Awards are also well-recognised for their rigorous selection and awards process.
This latest development comes amidst recent efforts in Macau to diversify its offerings, as the region looks to enhance its non-gaming revenue sectors. These efforts have been further highlighted by a recent announcement that the NBA would be hosting preseason games in Macau for 2025.

Commenting on these developments, SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho said: “In China’s vibrant culinary landscape, SJM is honoured to have six of its restaurants recognised by the Golden Phoenix Tree Chinese Restaurant Guide, securing our position as the most awarded integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau. Furthermore, Palace Garden achieved the highest three-star honour, while Robuchon au Dôme and Don Alfonso 1890 are honoured with a two-star rating, distinctions that reflect positively on Macau. These achievements shine a spotlight on Macau’s strength as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy within Mainland China’s culinary scene. We look forward to continuing to lead the industry by integrating ‘gastronomy + tourism’ to attract more visitors from across China and share Macau’s remarkable story through its cuisine.
“Having three of our restaurants recognised in La Liste, renowned as the ‘Oscars of Gastronomy,’ is a tremendous honour and reaffirms our dedication to culinary innovation and hospitality. This achievement is not only a testament to the passion of our team but also underscores SJM’s role in elevating Macau’s reputation as a global gastronomic destination.”
