The event introduced the Sphere’s first-ever role as the city’s official countdown clock.
Key points:
- Nine Las Vegas resorts hosted synchronised fireworks for the 24th annual “America’s Party”
- The Sphere debuted as the city’s official countdown clock, featuring a global time-zone celebration
- The event required more than 3,795 hours of installation and involved 71 pyrotechnicians
Las Vegas rang in 2025 with the 24th edition of its “America’s Party” fireworks display, spanning the rooftops of nine major resorts along the Strip, including Aria Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and The Venetian.
Organised by Fireworks by Grucci, the show featured eight minutes of choreographed pyrotechnics symbolising the city’s vibrant energy.
For the first time, the Sphere served as the city’s official countdown clock, using its Exosphere – the world’s largest LED screen – to broadcast a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring visuals of major global cities as they entered 2025.
The Sphere’s role as a central focal point highlighted its growing presence as a landmark in the city’s entertainment landscape since opening in 2023. New Year’s Eve attendance was projected to exceed 340,000 visitors.
The fireworks show required a year of planning and five days of rooftop installations. The production involved 71 pyrotechnicians, 90 security personnel and more than 3,795 total hours of setup.
Good to know: Fireworks by Grucci, which has produced 20 of the last 24 “America’s Party” events, oversaw the display
This year’s theme, “Making Vegas Memories,” used red, blue, yellow and silver pyrotechnics to reportedly capture the city’s dynamic spirit. Payouts for the fireworks show were funded by Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and casino operators.
The celebration comes amid broader changes on the Las Vegas Strip. Resorts World Las Vegas, one of the participating venues, recently announced leadership changes, appointing Alex Dixon as CEO effective 16 January 2025.
Former MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren will serve as Chairman of the resort’s newly formed Board of Directors.
