The supplier has signed a new contract which reinforces its position as the official scratch card provider.
In a move that enhances the pair’s longstanding relationship, Scientific Games has now been named the official supplier of Washington Lottery’s scratch games.
This latest announcement is one that sees the extension of a collaboration that has been ongoing for the last 40 years – as Scientific Games has been the lottery’s official scratch games provider since the organisation was founded. Now, the new deal spans over the next six years, with the option to extend for an additional four.
In 2014, it was also announced that Scientific Games would become the lottery’s primary instant game partner. Since this deal was brokered, 60% growth in gross gaming revenue (GGR) has been reported by Washington Lottery.
Gaylene Gray, Instant Product Manager for Washington's Lottery, commented on the new deal, saying: "Our work with Scientific Games has made a difference. We've been able to offer our players entertaining scratch game experiences while responsibly driving more funding for the good cause programs that enrich our communities.
"We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Scientific Games as into the next phase of innovation and growth for our products."
For Scientific Games, its business interest in lottery organisations across the globe continues to grow, as it partnered with the Kansas Lottery and further extended its partnership with the New York Lottery last month. Outside of the US, it also announced partnerships with lotteries in Slovenia and Poland in April.
Speaking on the Washington deal, John Schulz, President of Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, said: "It is a pleasure to continue our collaboration with Washington's Lottery on its very successful product portfolio as primary instant game provider. The Lottery's team has always embraced innovation and is willing to try new ideas that entertain players and drive more funding for vital programs in the state."
