The new hire brings a wealth of experience from the banking sector.
Mark Shaw has announced via a post on LinkedIn that he has taken on the role of Director of Global Payments Strategy at Flutter Entertainment.
Shaw has been working within his new role for a month now and comes into it after leaving music streaming giant Spotify in April, after around four and a half years as Director of Global Payments Strategy.
On top of this, Shaw has attained extensive experience related to the financial sector, having worked for the likes of TSB Bank, Mastercard, Visa and Barclays, while he is a Member of the Bank of England CBDC Technology Forum.
In his LinkedIn post, Shaw wrote: “After leaving Spotify earlier in the year, I’m pleased to say I’ve started up (and am now one month into) a new role as Director of Global Payments Strategy for Flutter Entertainment, the world’s largest online sports betting and iGaming operator.
“As a group, Flutter operates some of the world’s most innovative, diverse and distinctive sports betting and gaming brands as part of a globally federated business model - from FanDuel and Paddy Power to Sportsbet, Betfair, PokerStars, Sisal and more, the scale, growth and diversity of the business is incredible
“It’s a big change from Spotify in so many ways, but new challenges and learning are the only constants in life, so it’s time to get stuck in and help 'Change The Game.'”
This news comes after Flutter recently confirmed the appointment of Rob Coldrake as its new Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson stepping down as Group CFO and Executive Director at the company.
