William Hill has been announced as the new sponsor of Super Saturday at Newbury Racecourse.
Super Saturday is a race day which takes place each year and William Hill will be sponsoring the fixture, with naming rights for the William Hill Hurdle worth £155,000 ($189,751), the William Hill Denman Chase, and the William Hill Game Spirit Chase.
Considered one of the National Hunt racing’s biggest fixtures, Super Saturday will be taking place on 8 February around five weeks before Cheltenham Festival.
Runners from the Newbury raceday will often contest the Cheltenham Festival County Handicap Hurdle, which William Hill are now the sponsors of ahead of 2025’s edition.
William Hill Director of Horse Racing Sandro Di Michele said: “We’re delighted to further our involvement in some of the biggest days in National Hunt racing and the roll of honour on this day at Newbury is right up there with the very best.
“It fits perfectly into an exciting time of year for us as we build up to our return to Cheltenham Festival sponsorship, as well as our third season as the Official Betting Partner of Aintree’s Randox Grand National Festival.
“Racing is in our DNA and our new sponsorship with Newbury demonstrates our further commitment to British racing. We believe it’s important to be involved as sponsors of some of racing’s biggest events, coupled with our commitment to giving our customers proper value.
“We offered more top prices on horse racing in 2024 than other major bookmakers and we continue that into 2025 along with Best Odds Guaranteed daily from 8am on every UK and Irish race.
Good to know: William Hill became the first bookmaker to offer 'Non Runner Money Back' for this year's Cheltenham Festival
“We also know the importance of Super Saturday for Cheltenham Festival hopefuls and with our Cheltenham Festival Non Runner Money Back offer you can back Festival fancies with William Hill safe in the knowledge that you'll get your money back if they don't make it to their target in March.”
Newbury Racecourse Head of Sales Jordan Coates added “This new sponsorship marks an inaugural title raceday sponsorship for William Hill here at Newbury. Having worked with William Hill over the past ten years, we are delighted to be expanding our existing relationship with the well-known brand who also occupy two betting shops on course.
“We extend our thanks to William Hill for their support of one of our flagship National Hunt meetings which is guaranteed to have top quality racing action. We look forward to promoting the raceday with William Hill in the coming weeks.”
