After a blockbuster year of travelling the globe, BLAST is excited to announce the opening of its RFP process for hosting opportunities in 2026 and 2027.
This is the launch of BLAST’s competitive process for exciting 2026 and 2027 event-hosting opportunities for five of the biggest games in the world at the moment: Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League and Rainbow Six.
2024 was another year of growth for BLAST, hosting events for ecosystems both existing such as BLAST Premier and BLAST R6 as well as new ventures in Rocket League, Fortnite and Dota2. With 14 events taking place in 2025, spanning four different continents, it’s an exciting time to take esports to new destinations and fanbases both budding and established in 2026 and 2027.
BLAST is one of the world’s largest esports rightsholders, producing award-winning arena events as a trusted partner of the world’s biggest gaming publishers. BLAST events regularly see up to 85% of event attendees travel from outside the host city, generating up to $100M in economic impact per event, and up to 175M views online.
There’s no shortage of opportunities for destinations to get involved with. 2026 is set to feature 20 live arena events in front of tens of thousands of fans, with the expectation of increasing to 25 live events in 2027.
James Woollard, BLAST’s Director of Market Development said: “Esports is one of the fastest-growing entertainment industries in the world, and BLAST has a proven record of delivering award-winning arena events that captivate millions of fans online and thousands in person. Our goal is to partner with destinations in a long-term and meaningful way, and to drive tangible financial, political, social and destination marketing benefits for our host markets. We also want to bring esports closer to more fanbases across the globe, reaching new regions and allowing more fans than ever to watch and enjoy live BLAST events. Our repeat events and return to host destinations shows that we are delivering real value and meaningful impacts for cities, leading to strategic, multi-year deals.”
